Congress recently introduced legislation to help some existing mortgage holders who face a troubled future.
The bill, titled "The Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Lending Act of 2007," was also sponsored by Reps. Mel Watt, D-N.C., and Brad Miller, D-N.C.
The House Bill would give some immediate assistance to people who face imminent problems:  Their mortgage payments will increase dramatically soon.
For those who know what's going to happen, and are doing what they can to prepare...Is it inappropriate to ask them:...What would happen if your plans were suddenly thrown asunder by an unexpected job loss?
For everyone who is facing a higher mortgage payment, we hope this new legislation will help you.  But, we would respectfully ask:  If this new regulation doesn't come through...AND...it just so happens that you experience Unexpected Involuntary  Unemployment or Unexpected Disability - ....How Would You Make Those Increased Mortgage Payments?
Visit www.salaryprotector.com for possible options.  Job Loss Mortgage Insurance is now available to US Citizens.  Bad Things Do Happen To Good People.  Be Prepared.

Charlotte, NC's Bank of America will lay off 3000 employees.  Bank of America was the first US Bank to offer an Unemployment Protection package to their loan customers several years ago, calling it the Borrowers Protection Plan.
We wonder how many of these laid-off employees who also have outstanding loans with their previous employer have their loans covered by the Borrowers Protection Plan.
It use to be that bankers would work their entire career with the same bank.  Today, with outsourcing, offshoring, mergers and acqusitions, even bank employees worry about job loss.
If you are in any way concerned that your job may be in jeopardy, or if a sudden disability is a concern, we suggest you visit www.salaryprotector.com to learn more about Unemployment Job Loss Protection.

Countrywide Financial  is offering to renegotiate with tens of thousands of their mortgage customers whose mortgage payments are scheduled to increase dramatically soon, due to adjustable interest rates.  Countrywide said they will contact more than 52,000 customers to try to "stave off pending foreclosure".

We applaud Countrywide's announcement.  But we ask if they will encourage their customers to protect their loans with Job Loss Involuntary Mortgage Insurance, Disability Mortgage Insurance, or Mortgage Protection Life Insurance during this 'renegotiation process'.

If Countrywide is successful with this endeavor, the borrowers will have an opportunity to revisit their overall financial plan, and perhaps obtain information about the Mortgage Safety Plan, by visiting SalaryProtector.com, a site offering information about mortgage job loss unemployment insurance.

August 2007 US employment figures showed 145,794,000 people with jobs, or 125,000 fewer than 6 months ago.  When that number goes into negative territory (125,000 FEWER), it is a warning of a slowdown in the economy.  Ohio’s unemployment rate last month increased to 5.6 percent (up from 5.2 percent one year ago).  States with the highest unemployment rates in September 2007 included Michigan (7.50 percent) and Mississippi (6.4 percent).

Are You Worried About Your Job?  How Would You Pay Your Bills If Unemployed?

Life Insurance and Disability Insurance can provide for families if death or disability occurs. Now certainly that's comforting, but it doesn't account for what's probably the most likely malady to befall most Americans - Unemployment. You can easily cover yourself with a benefit that will pay you cash benefits up to six months if you become unemployed so that you can keep all your debts current while you look for new employment. The alternative is to use up your savings leaving you poorer than you have to be. That doesn't need to happen!
