Recession Looming - Unemployment Rising: What To Do

It's fairly apparent now: even George Bush says "we're in a slowdown". Oil prices are up, record low dollar values, credit "squeeze". The economy is either in a recession or on the brink of a recession. All of this is rippling through the economy at a rapid pace.

You know where this will end up, don't you? Rising unemployment rates. Your job could be in danger. What would you do if your employer announced massive layoffs? Could you find another job quickly? Is your resume current? Hey, it's a competitive job market out there. Are you confident you could find employment without experiencing a major loss of income? Could you pay your bills on time for several months without a regular salary?

Aside from paying closer attention to your job performance, take a look at your current financial obligations and try to think ahead a bit: what bills could you postpone paying? Certainly not the mortgage payment, the car payment, the utilities, the insurance.

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"...an old adage, yes...but did you know that Unemployment Insurance is available?

For about $55 per month, you can purchase Involuntary Unemployment Insurance that will pay you $2000 per month for up to 6 Months if you lose your job. Visit www.salaryprotector.com to get a personal price quote and enroll online.

Paid in addition to any state unemployment program, this unique one-of-a-kind insurance is now available in 35 states. Benefits are paid to you individually to pay your bills when you're unemployed and your salary stops. There is a "Vesting" period: you must become unemployed after a 6 month 'waiting' period. Sorry, you cannot buy the policy and file a claim immediately...there must be a 6 month period of continuous employment between purchase and claim.

So, a word to the wise: if there's some doubt in your mind about your employer and your prospects of continued employment through the foreseeable future - a small investment insurance premium might be worth considering.

Contact John Hartline
800-562-8019

Auto Dealers & Auto Lenders Provide Job Loss Insurance

We're just introducing a new program which auto dealers and auto lenders are most interested in trying: Pre-Paid Job Loss Insurance. In order to generate new business, both dealers and lenders are beginning to look at providing a 1 year term Unemployment & Disability Insurance Policy to their customers.

Here's how it works: Every qualified customer who buys from the dealer...or finances with the Lender...is given a 1-Year term insurance policy which will pay the buyer's monthly car payment up to $500 if the customer is Unemployed or Disabled.

Given the uncertain economic times, with unemployment trends growing, dealers and lenders see this as providing their customers with "peace of mind" security as they make their purchase. Most dealers we've talked to see this new plan as a way to boost customer traffic, build customer loyalty, and boost sales. Auto lenders are also most enthusiastic about the plan because having a fully insured finance customer helps them mitigate any losses they might experience in an economic downturn, with increased layoffs.

Mortgage companies are beginning to look into the plan as well, with several large regional mortgage brokerage firms exploring the idea.

To review the plan, go to www.joblossinsure.com.

John Hartline
800-562-8019

Mortgage Protection Plan - Mortgage Unemployment Insurance

Subprime Loan Plan, 'Teaser Freezer': Will It Help Stop Foreclosures?

The government is working almost round-the-clock with major mortgage lenders to put in place a plan that would "freeze" interest rates on millions of ARM mortgages which are set to cause large mortgage payment increases in early 2008. One 'sticking point' seems to remain: how long the freeze will last..3, 4, or 5 years. The mortgage servicing companies, major lenders, and the bond investors would rather have a lower yield on their investment than massive foreclosures. Was it Mark Twain who said "I'm more concerned with Return of My Investment than Return On Investment"?

Many are arguing that that the borrowers are at fault here and were fiscally irresponsible by entering into a mortgage contract, knowing their payments would increase; many argue that it was predatory lending; many say the home builders were at fault for this mess. I think there's enough blame to go around to everyone. I spent about 15 years in an industry which sold to auto dealers...to their finance departments. I know when the auto lenders were aggressively seeking new business, they would relax their credit standards from time to time. The dealers loved it when the lenders did this: People will buy more of anything if they can get it on favorable credit terms.

I think this proposed Subprime Loan Plan will help mitigate problems...but I also think that the borrowers who are given this "gift"...this "reprieve"...should now show some fiscal responsibility by investigating purchasing inexpensive mortgage unemployment insurance. Our new plan, the Mortgage Safety Plan, pays cash benefits to insureds when they are unemployed or disabled.

If borrowers are having budgetary problems now, living paycheck-to-paycheck, they would certainly be financially disabled if they lost their job. Who would make the mortgage payment...even if it is 'frozen' at current amounts? This proposed plan would help but it might not help enough to offset the predicted overall economic slowdown. If the slowdown comes to pass, unemployment rates will go up.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Mortgage Safety Plan is designed to lend a helping hand when bad things happen to good people. 'Lose Your Job...Keep Your Home'

John Hartline
800-562-8019

www.mortgagesafetyplan.com
